JOIN OUR COMMUNITY AND SUPPORT LOCAL TRAILS

Starting in March 2023, we're investing even more in our local mountain biking community with our new in-house membership program. While we've appreciated our decade-plus partnership with IMBA, COMBA is now taking the final step to secure 100% of your membership donations for local advocacy and trail building efforts. Yes, that does mean no more IMBA socks for you - but we're certain you'd prefer to see more trails, and better trails, built right here in the Front Range. We are working to set up all-new member benefits working with our local partners because we want to support the businesses that support us! There's never been a better time to join us or renew your COMBA membership, do it today!

With recent projects at Maryland Mountain, North Elk Creek, and Buff Creek as well as upcoming work creating new trails in Idaho Springs, Lair o' the Bear, and Golden Bike Park, we're working hard to make your 2024 riding season even more stoke-worthy.

Some recent and upcoming trails projects that your membership $'s help fund:

  • In Fall 2023 Virginia Canyon Mountain Park in Idaho Springs has started construction on its first bike-only descending trail. We're stoked to finally get shovels in the ground on this project after a seven year planning process. Look for a Spring 2024 opening!

  • There’s a new bike-only directional trail at Lair O' The Bear! Called Rutabaga Ride, this trail allows riders to descend on a designated use trail designed and built for mountain biking, safely away from the busy lower section and the path along the creek. This project was a COMBA trails project submittal in 2018 and we’re stoked to see this kind of project in JCOS!

  • Warren Gulch is NOW BACK OPEN! This popular shuttle-run was closed for two years due to private property conflicts.

  • North Elk Creek & Staunton State Park have a new trail called Rusty Buckle that cuts over a peak from NEC to Borderline, OPEN NOW!

  • We're also currently leading a planning process to improve the riding experiences in the Indian Creek recreation area. This is part of our Outside 285 Regional Partnership and partially funded by our Indian Creek planning grant.
