2014 was a phenomenal year for COMBA’s construction efforts on Little Scraggy trail. We completed the 5.5 miles on the east side and the 0.5 mile Kelsey Campground loop, adding a total of 6 miles on new trail to the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area. All users are welcome but these trail are designed and built by and for mountain bikers and the reviews have been excellent. But not to rest on our laurels, our construction work continues.
2015 brings continuing construction on Little Scraggy trail with a number of scheduled build days. We’ve already added an additional 1.3 miles of new trail around the south side and are turning north, focusing our efforts on the west side of Little Scraggy Peak. This is new territory for mountain bikes and will provide a remote riding experience through some old growth forests. But we have a long way to go before the trail will be finished. Scheduled build dates are September 12. Please register and see detailed information by visiting the event pages listed on our Little Scraggy project page.
COMBA would like to thank the U.S. Forest Service for allowing us to build this trail, the many corporate sponsors who provide support in many ways and the hundreds of volunteers who have contributed thousands of hours to make this trail become a reality. Many, many thanks to each and every one of you who’ve played a role in the creation of the Little Scraggy trail. We hope you can join us this year and make 2015 more successful than last year.
