Colorado Trail Workday - Public Lands Day 9/30/17
We will have coffee and light breakfast available in the morning. After a quick meeting at 8:30 AM, we will pile into vehicles and drive up the canyon to the start of the singletrack. From there, we will hike into the work site. Plan to hike at least a couple of miles on the day. We’ll work until around 2:00 PM and then you’re free to go for a ride, hike or just relax. We’ll fire up the grill for our post work, afternoon BBQ so please register so we can plan accordingly and contact you if things should change. If you bring your bike for post-work recreation, you will need to make sure that it is secured. We will not be taking bikes up the trail.
Dress in sturdy work clothes including boots, long pants (recommended), work gloves, hat and sunglasses. Remember to bring water, a lunch, sunscreen and a pack to carry them in. A hydration pack works great for this purpose. There will be water available at the staging area.
The meeting place for this event will be the Audobon Center at Chatfield parking lot. The address is 11280 Waterton Road, Littleton, CO 80125. From the C-470 and Wadsworth Blvd interchange, head south on S. Wadsworth Blvd for approximately 4.5 miles to the intersection with Waterton Rd. Turn left on Waterton Rd. and then take the 1st left turn into the Audobon Center parking lot. Look for the COMBA tents once in the parking lot.
