Buffalo Creek, Little Scraggy Trail Work, Saturday May 17th and Sunday May 18th
Our May 3rd trail day was a huge success and we’re continuing our work on Little Scraggy trail the weekend of May 17th & 18th. With the main tread already cut, our focus will be on doing finishing work. This involves the use of simple hand tools and there’s no experience needed. We provide the tools and guidance so come join us!
We’ll be using Kelsey Campground as our base of operations and overnight camping is available at no charge. We’ll have a Saturday evening BBQ and bring your bike to ride. Please register so we can plan accordingly and contact you if things should change.
We’ll meet at Kelsey Campground at 9:15 am (see map). The campground is about 16 miles south on County Road 126 from the intersection of Highway 285. It is past Forest Road 550 and the Little Scraggy trailhead (pay parking lot). Look for the COMBA sign. We will have coffee and a light breakfast available. After a quick meeting, we’ll hike into the work site. It’s about a mile hike each way. We’ll work till about 2:00 pm and then there’s free time to go ride or just relax.
Dress in sturdy work clothes including boots, long pants (recommended), work gloves, hat and sunglasses. Remember to bring water, your own lunch, sunscreen and a pack to carry them in. A hydration pack works great for this purpose. There is currently no water available at the campground.
So come help us continue our work on Little Scraggy trail and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Keith Clarke at firstname.lastname@example.org. See you on the 17th.
