Help us build Little Scraggy trail at Buffalo Creek, June 14th & 15th
Saturday, June 14th, 8:45 am start
Sunday, June 15th, 8:45 am start
The work our volunteers did during May was a huge success. We’ve completed at least 1.5 miles of trail and we’re continuing our work on Little Scraggy on June 14th & 15th. The main tread has already been cut so we will focus on finishing the trail. This involves the use of simple hand tools and there’s no experience needed. We provide the tools and guidance. Come for a day or spend the weekend and camp with us.
We’ll meet at a dispersed camping area on Forest Road 528e. It’s about 14.5 miles south on County Road 126 from the intersection of Highway 285. It is about 1.5 miles south of Forest Road 550 and the Little Scraggy trailhead (pay parking lot) so stay on 126 past 550 Road (please see map). Look for the COMBA sign. If you make it to Kelsey campground, you’ve gone too far.
We will have coffee and a light breakfast available. After a quick meeting, we’ll hike into the work site. It’s about a mile hike each way. We’ll work till 2:00 pm and then there will be free time to go ride or just relax. We’ll have a post work BBQ each day so please register so we can plan accordingly and contact you if things should change.
Please register so we can plan food, drink and tools accordingly and contact you if things should change.
Dress in sturdy work clothes including boots, long pants (recommended), work gloves, hat and sunglasses. Remember to bring water, your own lunch, sunscreen and a pack to carry them in. A hydration pack works great for this purpose. There is no water available at the camp or staging area. We will be camping at a different location than the staging area so if you plan on camping, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
So come help us continue our work on Little Scraggy trail and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact email@example.com. See you on the 14th.
