We are pleased to announce Colorado Parks & Wildlife has awarded COMBA an RTP-funded grant for the construction of the North Elk Creek Trail in the Pike National Forest. A Colorado 16 trail, this new 2.25-mile, bike-optimized trail runs through beautiful lands in the Pike National Forest. The nearly $108k grant will be supported with additional funding from The Bailey HUNDO, Team Evergreen, US Forest Service, and COMBA. COMBA is partnering with Mile High Youth Corps, ERO Resources/ContourLogic, and the South Platte Ranger District on the project.
Picked for its regional connectivity, the North Elk Creek Trail will connect the Bugling Elk Trail in Staunton State Park with the Cub Creek Trail in the Pike and Arapaho National Forests. The new trail will also provide a future link to trails being planned in Bailey. COMBA is excited to have the chance to steward more great trail experiences and provide an expanded network of trails in the Front Range.
