Trails Team Training

Project:

We are developing a new Trail Crew Leader training program that is expected to launch this spring before our already-scheduled trail workdays, which begin May 20.

The goal of the program is to create more consistency in the trail crew leader approach to both leading volunteers and successfully executing trail projects. Our ED, Gary Moore, remarked, “We want to ensure that trail work volunteers are safe, productive, and enjoy the experience. We are so appreciative of our community’s efforts in shaping our Front Range trails.”

On March 11 and March 12, 2017, five COMBA Trail Crew Leaders attended the Overland Mountain Bike Club’s Crew Leader Training for Trails weekend program in Fort Collins. Gil McCormick, COMBA’s Trails Team Lead and one of the training participants, stated, “We want to take what we learned in this training to our existing crew leaders and future leaders to keep us all safe, have fun, and get important construction and restoration work done.”
